In this phase we will learn about what it means to be mobile, and how improving your mobility will benefit your workouts and fitness goals. We recommend completing this before moving on to Step 3 of the Fit14 program: Strength 101.
We all know what flexibility is, but what is mobility? Think of it like this. If you can touch your toes, you may be considered "flexible." But if you touch your toes and get hurt doing it, you're not mobile. We will define "mobility" as "strength through range of motion." This means that we need to be strong and flexible at the same time. These next 2 weeks of Fitness Foundations will help you to achieve better flexibility and mobility in preparation for the 12 week, Strength 101 program. This program won't be easy. We're going to challenge your core strength, flexibility, strength and balance through many types of movements. This will help you understand where you may need more work and focus as you progress. Just remember to be patient, take it slow and do your best!
